PRAYER FOR YOUR CHURCH
|
Lord, I lift up our Women’s Ministry. Encourage our older women to train the younger in family issues. Teach our women to be virtuous—women with gentle and quiet spirits who put their hope in You. Let this ministry produce women who feel Your passion for them and who choose to spend time at Your feet. Train them to contend for the gospel side by side with the men. (Titus 2:4, 5; Pro. 31:10; 1 Pet. 3:4, 5; Ps. 45:11; Lk. 10:38-42; Phil. 4:3)

Many will not understand what benefit there is to praying in the streets over in the pews. Here are some resources that can aide you to explain the biblical basis, train them in a variety of methods, and provide participants with prayers to pray.
Even though it was the first book on the subject, Prayerwalking by Steve Hawthorne and Graham Kendrick is still the most thorough of the available resources. It loaded with proven ideas, and provides solid biblical material about on-site intercession. Its stories and statements of more than a hundred prayerwalking Christians will ignite your imagination for your first steps and help you enlist others to join you. It is available from www.prayershop.org.
Follow Me: Becoming a Lifestyle Prayerwalker, by Randy Sprinkle is a six-week study guide that can transform any believer into an effective prayerwalker. Follow Me includes sections on various types of prayerwalking, the power of praying God's promises, local and global evangelism, spiritual warfare, and ways to incorporate prayerwalking in local church ministries. Its six five-day sessions are ideal for individual and group study. A facilitator's guide is included. It is available at www.IMBresources.org
Prayer Walking: Journey of Faith, by Dan R. Crawford and Calvin Miller takes you on an overseas journey of prayerwalking. It is loaded with stories of prayerwalking encounters from around the world, the experience of a group of men who walked and prayed, then observed God answering their prayers. It is also available at www.IMBresources.org.
One of the most practical series available for prayerwalkers is the "Ways to Pray" series of prayer guides developed by Steve Hawthorne and Waymakers. There are six, scripture based guides designed to carry with you as you prayerwalk. You can check them out at www.waymakers.org. They are also available in the Evangelism section at the Harvest Prayer Ministries webstore .
