PRAYER FOR YOUR CHURCH

Spirit-Led

Lord, I lift up the issue of our willingness to be led by Your Spirit. Holy Spirit, show us any way we are grieving, quenching or resisting You. Convict us and lead us to level ground. Help us keep in step with You as we live by You. Reign in us so that we experience Your freedom. Lead us into grace, life and peace. (Eph. 4:30; 1 Thes. 5:19; Acts 7:51; Jn. 16:8; Ps. 143:10; Gal. 5:25; 2 Cor. 3:17; Gal. 5:18; Ro. 8:6)

About Church Prayer Leaders Network

You may be wondering just who are we? The Church Prayer Leaders Network is exactly what its name implies. We exist to help individuals (pastors and lay people) who are working to raise up more prayer in their churches. We want to encourage, challenge, inspire, and resource you as you seek to motivate and mobilize your church toward deeper levels of prayer.

Vision: To equip every church in every city to become an effective, joyful “house of prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:7).

Mission: To serve the local church prayer leader (pastor or designate), empowering him or her to initiate, strengthen, and expand the prayer life of that congregation to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Strategy: To provide a strategic network that empowers local church prayer leaders to fulfill their calling.

History: CPLN began in 1999 as the National Association of Local Church Prayer Leaders. In 2003 it came under and was subsidized as a ministry of Pray! magazine, a bimonthly publication of NavPress and The Navigators. Pray! has always had a heart for seeing prayer become more foundational to local church ministry. In June 2004, when Pray!'s founding editor, Jonathan Graf, left to pursue his prayer ministry into local churches, Pray! gave the CPLN to him. He brought both his speaking ministry and CPLN under the 501c3 umbrella of Harvest Prayer Ministries. The CPLN focuses solely on resourcing the prayer leaders in congregational ministry. Doctrinally, we adhere to the Lausanne Covenant.

Our Team: The president of the CPLN, Jonathan Graf, was the founding editor of Pray!. CPLN is facilitated by Rev. Phil Miglioratti, a veteran pastor (20 plus years in local church pastorates) who has a strong heart for prayer, pastors, and the local church. Besides CPLN, Phil facilitates the National Pastors Prayer Network, a web-based ministry that connects praying pastors.

To enable better contact with our members, we have five staff persons:

Joanne Telle is our receptionist/order taker. Hers is the voice you usually hear when you call our 800 number.

JoLyn Graf works as our Conference Coordinator, overseeing the logistics of our national and regional conferences.

Directors of Member Relations: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Dennis and Betty Jo are available to help our members with any problem--whether they need help understanding their benefits, advice on a situation related to their prayer leadership, or just someone to pray with them.

Directors and Representatives:

California: Ginny Kisling is our Western Regional Director. Ginny has served in prayer leadership in her local church and community. She now joins us with a passion to come alongside existing and new pastors and prayer leaders as they seek to deepen the life of prayer within their congegations. She will concentrate on building these relationships and assisting our members in California.

Along with these paid staff (though most raise their own support to be on our team) are individuals called Regional Representatives. Regional reps are not paid staff, but are individuals who have a prayer ministry very similar to CPLN, and we work alongside to assist churches to be houses of prayer. Currently we have the following reps:

Southwest: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Dennis and Betty Jo have served as prayer ministry teachers and coordinators in their home church for the past 17 years. God’s calling--and their focus--is to be “Prayer Coaches,” partnering with pastors and churches to help them grow their churches into a biblical houses of prayer. While they will go anywhere in the country to help any church, their primary CPLN focus is on five states: Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisana.

Southeast: Rev. Jim Graddy. Following years of being a local church pastor, Jim now serves on the staff of Harvest Prayer Ministries, facilitating prayer weekends in churches. His territory for the CPLN covers Florida, Georgia, and North and South Carolina.

North/Central: Rev. John and Kerry Shuey. John and Kerry have been in local church ministry for more than 20 years. The founders of Kingdom Quest, John and Kerry facilitate Colleges of Prayer, prayer summits and prayer conferences around the world. John and Kerry will cover Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey for the CPLN.

North/Midwestern: Jenny Almquist. Jenny is currently the local church prayer coordinator on staff at Menomonie Alliance Church in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Her heart beats for prayer and the local church. Wanting to bless other churches, Menomonie Alliance has freed up some of Jenny's time so she can encourage other churches and prayer leaders. Jenny has a special heart for kids and prayer.

We are also shaped by a team of advisors who have cut their teeth in local church prayer ministry.
