I just returned from a denominational convention. It was excellent! A great time of refreshing. Part of my responsibilities there was to give oversight to a prayer room. This room had times of intercessory worship, quiet rooms to pray in solitary, and people who would pray for those who desired prayer ministry. I even led a time of corporate prayer. |

The church was born at a prayer meeting on the day of Pentecost, and the disciples continued to pray as they went on their way proclaiming the good news of Jesus around the world. By Harvest Prayer Staff Yes! When we pray, God works! The Bible says, "The prayer of a righteous (person) is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). Phil Miglioratti of the Church Prayer Leaders Network interviews David Mains, executive director of Mainstay Ministries, a non-denominational Christian outreach dedicated to serving pastors, churches, and individuals across North America
CPLN: David, you were commissioned to write the material for the Presidential Prayer Team's new series on prayer. What was it about your experience in prayer and your role in the prayer movement that prepared you for this task? As you know, Phil, the Presidential Prayer Team has encouraged hundreds of thousands of people take to heart the scriptural injunction to pray for our nation's leaders. With this series their desire was to expand that number through raising up potential prayer warriors by helping those who struggle with prayer in general. I'm not sure why they came to me with this assignment, but I was honored to be asked and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.
